Global flexible workspace provider International Workplace Group (IWG), whose brands include Regus and Spaces, signed 728 new locations globally in 1H2026, as demand for hybrid working continued to grow. This represented a 47% increase from 496 signings in 1H2025.

The group also opened 425 new locations during the period, up from 338 a year earlier.

Revenue rose 11% y-o-y to US$2.4 billion ($3.05 billion) from US$2.2 billion in 1H2025, according to IWG’s interim report released on Aug 11.

About 95% of its new signings in 1H2026 were secured through its “capital-light managed partnership model”, which allows the group to expand its network with limited capital investment while extending its reach beyond major cities into smaller towns and regional markets.

System-wide revenue from managed and franchised locations grew 36% y-o-y, while recurring management fees increased 84% to US$35 million from US$19 million. Revenue from company-owned locations rose 5% to US$1.865 billion from US$1.77 billion.

The US accounted for 187 of IWG’s new signings, followed by the UK with 62, India with 45 and China with 42. Asia Pacific contributed 164, representing more than 20% of the group’s 728 new signings, amid continued strong demand for flexible work solutions across the region.

In July, IWG acquired French flexible-workspace operator Wojo from joint shareholders Bouygues Immobilier and French hospitality group Accor. The acquisition added another 186 locations to IWG’s network.

The deal also establishes a long-term relationship with Accor, creating opportunities for IWG to introduce its flexible-workspace offerings at more hotels, according to the company.

At the end of 1H2026, IWG had 358,000 rooms open, with a further 257,000 signed but yet to open. Once fully opened and mature, the additional rooms are expected to generate more than US$2 billion in annual system-wide revenue.

IWG is also expanding deeper into suburban communities, smaller commuter towns and regional cities. The group estimates there are about 1.2 billion white-collar workers globally, representing a total addressable market of more than US$2 trillion.
