The Awards also recognise community partners and individuals who have worked closely with MSO and agencies to better serve residents. 23 award recipients have been selected out of a pool of 124 nominations. There were 11 winners in the Team Category, 9 winners in the Community Category, 2 winners in the Individual Category and 2 winners of the Love ‘Our Hood Award. i. Team Category: Winning inter-agency teams demonstrated excellent teamwork to develop innovative, sustainable and scalable systemic solutions to complex and cross-cutting issues. ii. Recognising community efforts and partnerships at the local level Over the years, community members have stepped up to take on a more proactive role in resolving municipal issues and shaping community norms for communal living. While the pandemic may have created challenges and added stress to community life, it has also reminded everyone of the importance of being good neighbours and being part of the solution to neighbourhood issues. To better recognise community efforts and encourage everyone to take greater responsibility to work together on municipal issues, we have introduced the new Love ‘Our Hood Award, expanded the nomination process of MSA Community category to the community, and appointed a panel of independent community stakeholders to assess our community-related awards (See Annex A for members of the panel). “It is really heartening to see so many community and volunteer groups working behind the scenes without fanfare to resolve intractable ground issues.
