A total of 481 businesses were recognised as Companies of Good by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) this year, as the initiative marked its 10th anniversary. The recognition honours businesses that create positive social impact in Singapore.

Over the past three years, 1,046 recognised Companies of Good have collectively contributed nearly $384 million in cash donations, more than $85 million in donations in-kind, and over 1.1 million volunteer hours.

The announcement was made at NVPC's Company of Good Conference and Conferment held on July 20 at Fairmont Singapore, which saw close to 700 business leaders gathered.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong officiated the event, presenting the Champion of Good awards, while Senior Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, and Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling presented the Company of Good – 3 Hearts awards.

“Ten years on, Company of Good has shown that Corporate Purpose is increasingly becoming an integral part of how organisations create value for their stakeholders and the broader society,” says Tony Soh, CEO, NVPC.

This year's cohort includes 177 Company of Good – 1 Heart recipients, among them Colliers, Fraxtor, Craig Road Property, Ngee Koon, and Momentus Hotel Alexandra.

Another 113 firms received the Company of Good – 3 Hearts recognition, including 8M Real Estate, Banyan Tree Holdings, Far East Orchard, OUE Reit Management and Savills (Singapore).

Meanwhile, 63 organisations were conferred the Champion of Good award — the highest tier of the recognition system — including Kuok (Singapore), Lendlease Global Commercial Trust Management, Mapletree Investments and TS Group.

Small and medium-sized enterprises accounted for the majority of recipients, making up 376 organisations, or 78% of the total.
