Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong Attends Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and Chairs 8th World Cities Summit Mayors Forum
Engagement with government and industry leaders may deepen cooperation on urban solutions and infrastructure financing, potentially supporting future city-development partnerships.
Lawrence Wong attended the Belt and Road Forum and chaired the 8th World Cities Summit Mayors Forum during his 14–19 May 2017 China visit.

Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance Mr Lawrence Wong will visit Beijing and Suzhou, People’s Republic of China (PRC), from 14 to 19 May 2017.
Mr Wong will be leading a delegation to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on 14 May at the invitation of China. He would also be speaking at a Belt and Road Industry Financing International Symposium on 15 May.
Thereafter, Mr Wong will be in Suzhou to chair the 8th World Cities Summit Mayors Forum, an exclusive platform for Mayors and city leaders to share best practices and through interactive discussions, generate new ideas and solutions to address pressing urban challenges.
While in Beijing and Suzhou, Mr Wong will be meeting foreign leaders, counterparts and industry leaders on the side of the forums. Mr Wong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of National Development and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
