Invesco Real Estate, the global real estate investment arm of Invesco Limited, has launched a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) platform in Seoul, South Korea.
The platform’s initial portfolio comprises five assets near Korea University, one of the largest and most prestigious institutions of higher education in the country.
The firm had acquired them through three forward-purchase transactions and two development sites, and they are expected to deliver more than 400 beds across a combined gross floor area of about 80,000 sq ft.

According to Invesco Real Estate, the accommodation offerings will primarily serve domestic Korean students, providing affordable purpose-built housing amid a limited supply of higher-priced alternatives.
“We are proud to deliver comfortable and economical living solutions for Seoul’s underserved student population,” said Jason Choi, funds management director at Invesco Real Estate.
The portfolio will be operated by Korean PBSA specialist, PCP Standard, which is backed by Silicon Valley-based Altos Ventures.
Invesco Real Estate says the partnership will combine global institutional capital with local operating expertise to deliver high-quality, affordable student housing at scale across South Korea.
Calvin Chou, head of Asia Pacific at Invesco Real Estate, said: “This platform launch aligns with Invesco Real Estate’s stated strategy to target Asia Pacific’s burgeoning living segment, a high-conviction theme with a long investment horizon.”
